I was out to the LGS the other day and started taking a serious look at a new semi auto. Three that I particularly like are the beretta xtrema2, browning fusion and winchester super X2. I'll be looking to buy in about 4 months and the shotgun will be used for skeet and sporting clays and maybe the very odd trap shoot. So I narrowed it down to these three. The are available whenever I want and all priced close enough that it isn't a concern. I'm currently reading up on all three but some experiences, good or bad would be appreciated. I got to handle all three and here what i think.
1. Browning fusion
+ dam good looking gun, nice wood which i like
+ lightest of the three
+ fit nice in my hands
- heavy trigger pull
- I don't know or hear much about brownings
- did not shoulder well for me
2. Winchester super X2 (i only got to handle the universal hunter I'll be interested in the sporting version)
+ really good reviews from the sporting crowd
+ middle of the road weight wise
+ it's wood
- length of pull not adjustable, it was a little short for me
- does it come with a hard case?
- didn't shoulder all that well
- not a self compensating gas system
3. beretta xtrema2
+ KO recoil system (along with other features it should have very little recoil)
+ by far the heaviest, i know i put the weight of all the guns as a plus but light, heavy and the middle have different advantages
+ shouldered perfectly
+ hard case
+ length of pull adjustable
+ great trigger
+ great grip from rubber inserts
- it's plastic, oh yeah and rubber! ugly!!
so what do you guys think I'm missing here. I'm leaning toward the beretta with the fusion second and the X2 last. I'd like to hear more about the browning since i know very little.
thanks
