I'm quietly researching left bolts for an eventual purchase. The Winchester line seems to have moved through a number of owners and such. What do people think about the left handers that were available awhile ago. I see them occasionally on the exchange.

There seems to have been two styles from Winchester during that time, a CRF and a Controlled Push Feed (?) in the literature. Was that the case with the left handers as well?

the ones i had were all full CRF. a shame i sold mine : 338 win mag and 300 wsm.

they were good and reliable. what i dont like is the bolt stop and bolt release.

hope they re bringing back on the market. but not at least for this year.

but Montana rifle company is bringing this a full lefty lines with a wood stock and blued or stainless barrel and action.

ruger left hand are good too they re made in compact 308 family, standard 30-06, standard magnum 300 win mag, compact magnum 300 RCM (that can make a 300 WSM or 350 rem mag) so this is very good too. but no everybody likes the cast on ruger....

I spent months looking for a decent LH rifle without breaking my bank account.. came down to a Tikka for me.. I have yet to find some oene who says their tikka isn't accurate and smooth.. Not the best to look at but the T3 that I got is sythn stock and I know it won't kill me to bump it around in the feild..

I do want a NICE LH gun eventually.. I think it will be a cooper.. but I don't know if I could ever take it hunting lol

I'm the same, if I own it it gets shot. I'm no spring chicken and always wanted one nice bolt. Mostly a lever man but I would like one dedicated left hand gun in my safe some day.

I have pretty much owned them all . kinda kick myself for selling the winchester 70 lh in 270 and 7 wsm took forever to sell them when I needed the money now Iam sure they would go quick. I had a Tika but like every one says there accuate and smooth but lack the class of the winchester dont over look the Rugers solid platform better than a savage IMO The Savages I owned shot great but were rough and also lacked the class great gun as a back up . I seem to be using mostly using Remingtons now but all are semi custom units so I get what I want with a build all with a price though . I also have a Sako LH smooth , classy (cause I like wood ) and Quality bought it used paid a fair price its my keeper. To get a good lefty bolt you can find them on the EE used there is members here that take pride in there lefty bolts and are not gun dealers that looking to make some coin on you and are wanting to sell a unit to fund another build do not over look those ones there usually the best gun you can buy for the money and Quallity also

Currently the safe has a Savage 10flp, Remington BDL, Browning A-bolt, and Winchester 70 all in lefties. The Winchester is a great gun and has not caused me any problems (only 40 rounds through it) although in saying that if someone offered me an Xbolt Medallion in LH for my Winchester...it would be gone.

Interesting statement, mind elaborating?
