Opinions on .358 Win for deer?

That's the way the Captian spells it... there is no spelling requirement at Super School!
Captian Deadly is quite exuberant that there is still someone so blissfully unaware of thier own inadequacy that they actually believe that advocating a low percentage shot will make him a hero on the internet.:)

The 358 is a very capable little round and will take big game cleanly when used within its limitations.
I would limit my shots to about 200 yards to be the most effective and not use any bullets over 200 grains to maintain peak velocity.:D

The 358 has worked great for me. Its made short work of two moose, mountain goat, several large black bear, and numerous deer with the factory 200 gr sivertip out to 200 + yards with open sights. I have never seen one of these bullets come apart, even after goimg through large bones, and penetration and expansion has been excellent at all ranges.
All one shot kills.

These comments show lack of courtesy and do not pertain to the subject matter of whether a .358 is appropriate for deer, thus do not deserve a response. So trivial .

I guess our sense of courtesy is quite different... I show courtesy to the animals I shoot by taking high percentage to kill shots (vital zone). Head shots are low percentage shots that are far more likely to wound.
If you actually were the adept and experienced hunter you portend, you would already know this.
Your assertion that only "honest super hunters" trail thier game is an absurd statement which can only be taken as a criticism of the people who hunt differently.:(
I don't really care if you respond or not but when you brag about head shots on Big Game on this forum you can expect one of two things. Either you will be dismissed as a braggart and ignored... or you will be rediculed in a somewhat humourous manner.:)

Sorry about the hijack... but head shots are not trivial! They are just plain stupid:bangHead:
