I have a line on an 870 Remington express home defence - essentially looks like a police but it the express. 18.6” cylinder barrel with bead, 6 round extension and dark walnut stock. It is either an 18-19 and brand new at a retailer for $500. I have hade both the express and the wingmaster and know the difference. I am looking for some one who has owned this gun and what their opinion of it is. And was Remingtons quality control sorted out by 18-19. TKs!

I find the newer express models to be pretty nice, I bought one in 2018 or ‘19 and QC was great. The others I’ve looked at in stores have been the same, the chamber was mirror bright with no rough machining. No hard extraction or feeding problems.

The only Express I've seen with a rough chamber was a gun that is maybe 8 years old. I have an older one, and have handled/shot newer ones-they worked/looked fine, and the chambers were good. I see no issues, but on the other hand, you could inspect and/or ask the seller if there are any issues with it? Other than the finish on the laminate stock (I have) wearing thin, my Express seems to be aging well, and getting smoother year-to-year. (and it wasn't bad out of the gate)
