Considering buying the new Bushnell ENGAGE optic either in 2.5-10 or 4-16 power. This new tactical line of optics seems to be very affordable. 30mm tubes Tactical turrets Etc in the $400-550 range seems very reasonable.

Anyone have experience or opinions on these new products?

I am a huge fan of Bushnell's Tactical Elite series rifle scopes, particularly their 34mm tube offerings with the G2 and G3 reticle. That said, I also own optics from Vortex, Trijicon, Burris and others. If my experience has taught me anything, it is that by and large you get what you pay for with optics. Scopes in the $500 dollar range will perform like others in that same price bracket, regardless of their external bells and whistles. If you have been happy with performance at that price point in another scope, then the new Bushnells should serve you very well. If you want significantly better performance you will have to up your game.

A 3rd in support of the quality of the 34mm Elite Tactical riflescopes. The 30mm 6-24 and similar Elite Tactical riflescopes in the $1000 range are also excellent options in a lower price range. For $550 they're not going to have the same quality internals or optics as the previoisly mentioned options.

One overlooked option is the Weaver Tactical line of scopes. They can be hard to find but with 30mm tubes and FFP mil/mil options the are good choices too. They can be found for very reasonable prices in the EE and are made in Japan.

Totally agree. With one exception- when they have a sale, the SWFA SS lineup offers fantastic value in that price range and have a long track record of long-term accuracy and durability. As long as the SS are offered, I can't see wasting money on the latest Engage/Covenant/Etc...

I think it’s unfair to compare them to scopes costing twice as much.
I was also hoping to hear some reviews on them for a inexpensive scope for a plinker

I don't think that anyone is trying to compare Apples to Oranges, rather we are commenting on where the best "performance for dollar" is found within the Bushnell lineup. Go less expensive and you will have to accept substantially less scope in terms of glass quality, low-light performance, etc. There are no financial shortcuts when it comes to glass for your rifle. At the end of the day you have to decide how much scope you can afford and how good is "good enough" for your needs.

You will have to wait for reviews on the new Bushnells, as they are only just starting to roll out of dealers now. Look Stateside on Google for early reviews.

You are correct. We should be comparing them to Leapers, Fitco, NC Star, etc that are also made in China and retail for $50...
