Opinions on Lanber O/U?

I want an O/U for some very casual weekend trap shooting during the summer. In reality I'll be happy to get out one afternoon per month, so the shotgun I purchase definitely will not see a large number of rounds.
I have read some reviews that state the Lanber O/Us are the only inexpensive O/Us worth purchasing as their build and finish are superior to the Stoegers etc.
Opinions? Suggestions?
Thanks very much!!!

Go have a look at the reasonably priced, used O/U's at Trade Ex Canada (CGN sponsor). Pick your way through the descriptions and you'll find yourself a decent piece for a fair price.

I also bought a Lanber from Tradeex. It's my first o/u (double triggers) so I can't compare it to anything else. I can say the following: the wood (with some dings) and checkering are nice, the receiver (silver), trigger guard and lever are well decorated with engravings. The blue is lightly faded on some parts of the barrel, but still around 85% and there is a small dent in the vent rib. The action locks up tight and the extractors do their job well. I have shot only 250 rounds with it, but it has performed flawlessly to date. The fixed chokes F/M are great for trap, but I wish they were interchangeable when I use it for skeet or sporting clays. The 250$ I spent for this "very good condition" rated shotgun is money well spent, unlike the 18.5" Norinco M870 P.O.S. I bought elsewhere.

For the guys who have purchased used Lanbers - If you have any trouble with your gun, do you feel that it will be possible to get parts/service relatively easily in Canada? If so, where?
Thanks again!

Good question, I have not looked into that. If I was you, I might call a Gunsmith in your area and see if he could help you in case of failure...

Numrich Gun Parts (US) carry a variety of parts for the Lanber.

ShotgunWorld has a dedicated Lanber Forum and offers much insight.....most speak well about the product.
