I will be apart of the club soon...in a week or so. While waiting for that magic reunion, I'm thinking of dressing her up with a cute pair of eyes. I saw the Leapers at Marstar and eyeing the 4x32mm compact w/illuminated Mil-Dot. I don't know of any others scope company that makes a 4x Mil-Dot. All I found are all 10x Mil-Dots. And yes, I want a fixed 4x. Opinions, experiences?

i had a leapers on my SKS and the inside of the tube started breaking apart. there was little bits of plastic inside of it. P&D gladly replaced it with a new one but i have swithched with something else now. this is not an isolated incedent the same thing happened to my buddy with 2 of his leaper scope. he's in the process of getting them exchanged through leapers. i think i'll just stay away from them. what it boils down to is you get what you pay for.

I never owned a Leapers, but the ones I have looked through were very poor to my eye.

Lots of distortion around the edge

The image looked "smoked" at 9x mag. By smoked I mean the same sort of effect as looking through the windows of a car driven by a heavy smoker with an an aversion to windex.

my $0.02

Fat

PS If you want a fixed 4 times, check out the Leupold M8 series, very attractively priced. Good starting glass. As for the mil dots, they'd likely not be too useful anyhow, as assuming the scope doesn't kick the bucket quickly which there's a too high a probability it will, the mil dots are likely not calibrated anyways and are merely there to look "tactical".

Egad! From the sound of things, I am assuming that Leapers "suck". I do use the milliradian dots (mil-dots) for shooting air rifle. Since using the mil-dots to calculate my hold-over on the range limits of a an air rifle pellet trajectory, I wanted to use the same scope reticle with my M305. I might end up with a variable 3-9x with mil-dots. Bushnell I think. Thanks for the feed back guys.

Bought two Leapers for the SKS, one fixed 4 power, one 3X9. I also had one given to me, another 4 power. I tried all three and hated all of them, enough to have shot all three at the range using the same SKS that they wouldn't work on. I have a 4 power Tasco on it now and have no problem hitting a Leapers scope at 100 yards.

I've got a Leapers 3-9x40 and it's a great scope. As long as you don't mind the fact that the objective lens rattles around.;)

there's a poll on Kalinka's website.
if you shot them.... did you do it thru the glass? Remember those sniper shots ... bullet going thru the scope and hit the bad guy in the eye....

If you didn't try it yet, please do. A lot of ppl think it is not possible.

This is a message for Leaper owners. No other scope should be the subject of this experiment.... I wan on phonecall away from buying one.
