Anybody have any feedback on these? Worth it for the upgrade? Or just stick with 1 stage trigger? Thanks for any info.

Not for the CQB you're building, you would not notice any real benefit, the standard trigger is fine. A match trigger comes into its own on a precision type build. Many think CMT/LMT are tier 1 - AR15 makers and you cannot do wrong with them. If you can, try before you buy.

I just got a new Defender 2000 rifle today from LMT with a 16" barrel and SOPMOD stock. I bought the 2 stages trg. and the enhanced carrier and bolt. My opinion is that the trigger is AWSOME.... Go ahead, get it... Also, the barrel and stuff are MP proofed.... nice to know...

yeah thanks for the feedback. At a later date I might put a longer barrel on it for some range work. But for now, its gonna be mostly for blasting stuff on the short range.

The second stage isn't significantly lighter that there's going to be a safety issue. The second stage breaks cleanly without the unknown creep allowance.

I would strongly recommend staying away from two-stage triggers, or anything even remotely called "match".

"Match" seems to be a synonym for "will let you down at the most inopportune time. There's a reason most big-name shooting schools tell their students NOT to put match triggers on their AR's - they don't hold up. Just ask Boomer686 after the Tactical Response classes in May :D

I think that light triggers are useful for precision shooting with featherweight guns. IMO, a heavy trigger will not make a rifle wobble if it weighs enough.

I would hazard a guess my ar15 RRA national match trigger is arounf 4.5 lbs.... stock trigger I would not even want to guess, but easily double he weight and 10x the creep.

as to jaycee's comment, not all match triggers are made the same, KAC is top of the line but RRA is also opinioned on AR15.com to be top notch also.

and again, for IPSC and 3 gun I think there are no problems having a 2 stage trigger in your gun.

Actually Westicle, KAC's semi-auto match trigger, along with the Giselle, have about as bad a rep as the rest. KAC's full-auto capable match trigger is better, but still a long, long way from being as reliable as a stock trigger. And RRA, we won't even go there.

Unless one is actually using an SPR as it was designed for, I wouldn't have a match trigger on a rifle that I might put my life on the line with.

Now having said that, if all one is intending on doing with your match trigger is putting a couple boxes of shells through it every now and then, it will probably suffice. However, if one is planning on doing any high round count shooting with it, taking any courses, or shooting Service Rifle, I'd leave the match trigger at home - the odds are that it will let you down, and you can rest assured that it will be at the most inopportune time - it sucks to be at the 200m line of the run down and hear your two-stage match trigger go "sproing" and your gun doesn't go bang any more
