Anyone have comments on Mossberg 535 ATS combo? Like to know owners feelings regarding functioning and especially accuracy and loads with the slug barrel. Looks like a good deal, but have always had 870's.
Cheers

Just got one. It fits me very well ( I'm 6ft ) and it feels very nice in my hands. Also, the mechanics are quite smooth for an econo gun. I like it better than my Benelli NOVA. I've had mossberg 500's in the past and although they rattled a bit they never failed. Not the finest in fit and finish but well worth the money for a work horse gun. My only issue was the front bead is soldered on crooked. Got mine from SIR for $260 plus taxes etc.. I figure thats a hell of a deal.

That is a hell of a deal. Love to hear how well it shoots slugs when you get around to it.

Hi.
I have a 535 ATS. Its my first shotgun choice for taking out to the messiest places. Its what I consider my “beater” gun. Its light weight I have 3 different barrels for it which one of them is the 24 “ rifled barrel.
I find that it does have a bit more kick to it due to the fact that its such a light gun but face it…. Its not like your shooting all day in the bush, carrying weight was one of my considerations why I bought this gun. I can walk all day with it with no problem. My arms does get sore from shooting it out at the range all day.
I think all the new barrels now come with a fibre optic sights and they are a bit “fragile” . I lost/ broke my fibber optic sights several times while walking in the bush through the real thick stuff but I guess that can happen with any brand gun.
Overall I would defiantly say its worth the money for a versatile multi purpose shotgun.
