Does anyone have any experience with the Zatava (?) Mini-Mauser as sold by Remington? I'm looking at a .223 and was wondering how they stack-up with similarly priced Savages. Any experiences, horror stories or advice is much appreciated.

DO NOT buy one of these rifles!!!!!!!!
I currently own one if that is what you want to call it (will explain)
So I purchased one from my local gunshop in the end of July , being a smaller guy this rifle was a perfect fit for me and I also really liked the laminate stock and at around the 500 dollar mark I thought a great deal!!
So I bought it.
First trip to the range I put exactly 26 rounds of 55gr winchester whitebox FMJ down the pipe and the sear broke in the trigger.
So back to the gun store
They cant get parts for the trigger , they had a really hard time getting any info from Remington from what I gathered. Also remington does not import these rifles anymore so they dont do any work on them !
So I asked them to just put in an aftermarket trigger on it. Good luck finding one!
So finally after over 2 months I think closer to 3 I got my rifle back with a really nice Timnt trigger.
So back to the range I go this time with some S&B 55gr FMJ ammo , thought I would try something different this time!
And then.................................yes you guessed it , only this time i got about 29 rounds down the pipe and the same thing happens to my brand new aftermarket trigger sear is broken again!!!
So back to the gun store , and I am really mad now too because the cost of the trigger was 200 dollars and i paid 525 for the rifle so i am over the price of a decent savage now! (had to add that in)
So I leave it with them , go back a month later , and they still cant tell me anything , they are waiting for some direction from Remington so they say ! I cant help think that they are kinda dicking me around a little ! Apparently there is some sort ofparts issue , I am about to call Remington myself because I think this is rediculous! So if you want to take the risk and buy one of these rifles new go for it , it is a great shooter I was grouping very well with mine before the trigger went on it.
Or you can wait for me to get mine back with the bugs worked out and I will sell it to you (at a good price too)!
Hope this helps you out!
