Just curious as to general opinions on the Ruger Mk. III Competition.

I guess every gun prefers different ammo, but I'm also curious if there is one particular brand that seems to be consistently better in those pistols.

I've had mine about 3 months now and I love it, the quality of this pistol is outstanding. As far as ammo goes, I haven't had issues with anything I've put through it, everything is accurate and cycles well.

I would recommend getting the accurization kit from Brownells, it lightens the trigger pull quite a bit and has a better feel to it. It also gives you an extended slide release which you'll want because of the thick target grips.

The pistol can be a little finicky to put back together if you every do a complete disassembly, but after a few times it's no big deal.

I haven't fired mine yet but am very happy with it.

At first I thought a big thumb rest would bug me but I actually like it on this pistol, very comfortable.

Some doofus at Ruger must have been asleep at the wheel because my front sight isn't perfectly centered (an obvious cant to the left) but I have a decent remedy figured out that won't be noticed. I'll fix it myself rather than sending it back and all that crap (bought it mail order from a Vancouver gun store).

Nice pistol.

Very nice robust pistol, I think they are assembled quickly though. I had about 200 rounds through mine and it started misfiring and felt like the trigger was slipping past the sear or whatever it is supposed to trip! after a few months of fidjitting found out the pin going through the slide was not all the way through and messing up the alignment inside! it doesn't hold on by much even when in position! Works fine now but I will be watching that pin closely. They are a bit of a pain to take apart and reassemble but not that bad!
