Opinions on sighttron? How to select the right features for my firearm/shooting goal?

I'm looking at a fancy sighttron SIII series.

I'm planning on putting it on an SVT (Yes i know, $200 gun, expensive scope.. people look at me funny) but I'd like to reach out a lot farther than I'm capable with iron sights or the bushnell banner 6-18x50 that seems to do great out to 150yards and change.

Something transferable, quality, multipurpose (medium to long range).. I'd like to be able to do a lot better starting to move beyond the usual ranges into the 400,500 yard + real estate.

Not knowing much about the brands I thought I'd just see... quality overall? Top line?

You can see my other response on your other thread. No need for multiple threads.

Basically it boils down to what you want to spend.

~1000-1500, I'd go Sightron 6-24 or 8-32

~1900 I'd go Nightforce NSX (no zero stop, you have to pony up for that)

~2200-2500 Nightforce NSX/ Vortex Razor, some fixed USO, etc scopes

~2800-3500 gets you into Nightforce ATACR and some other lower end models of expensive brands. Might get you into certain models of March, etc. NF Beast?? Not sure what that is priced at and who would have it available.

To shoot 600 yards you don't need anything ultra fancy. It's nice, but not needed. A SIII would be a good scope for as far as you needed to go with pretty much any rifle provided the light was decent.

For less than the cost of a SIII, the Vortex PST is a good scope.
