Opinions on Smith&Wesson 629

I bought mine a couple of years ago brand new, and I LOVE IT!!!
###y as hell, extemely comfortable grip (Houge) and a trigger as smooth as butter. Mine's a 6.5 inch and I used a stainless steel polisher (Hand polished it) on it and you can see your bloody reflection in this bad-boy.

629 CLASSIC all the way!!!................good luck.

My .2 cents; I would look for one of the later ones, -3 (some folks mentioned -2A also) and up, with so called “Endurance Package”, but up to firing pin on hammer. I am not 100% sure but found on several places that newer ones, with frame mounted firing pin, have so called MIM parts (internals). The jury is still out, but looks like that older, forged parts have better durability. For more answers, look at http://smith-wessonforum.com/eve, S&W Revolvers 1945 to the Present,

The easiest way to tell which N-frame revolvers have “Endurance Package”, is to look at cylinder bolt notches. They have bolt notch longer on front side, using as a reference bolt ramp that leads the bolt in the notch, see http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgu...v=/images?q=S%26W+629&svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&sa=N

Good luck!
