Hello, I have a Stag Arms for sale in the EE,on page 3, I started with $1200 and am now down to $900. I was wondering if this is a fair price or was I asking to much? Anyway I've changed my mind and will hang on to it for a while longer....I would appriciate any opinions... Thanks

If you changed your mind and are keeping then why would you care what a fair price is

Assuming its one of the base model retailing around $1300 and the gun being in decent shape $900 sounds reasonable enough.
If I was buying and your was a configuration I wanted, I would probably take it.

It's all relative...what it's worth and what's fair isn't always the same thing. It probably would have sold at your last price drop, but sometimes you need to patient. I'd suggest some better pictures and start with the description and then post the pictures...since your asking.

Yes ,I'm asking, I do tend to just throw it up there. I'm just not sure if I should count the extra parts or not. And patience is not one of my virtues. :) When I'm ready to sell ,I just want it gone. Anyway I've decided to give it a try, when I get the registration . After all ,it's my first AR. Thanks for the replys.

If you don't need the cash have some fun with it!

As for the parts, the rifle is what people are buying, the extras may not add any value to them at all, or be just what they are looking for (I know, a bit ambiguous). They add value, but in my experience never what they cost in the first place.

pictures are a must, decent quality too - i don't bother reading or messaging even if the description describes exactly what I'm looking for if no pics

also mods are great, but try and remember its a eye of the beholder deal - so they may not add to the value as much as you think and in cases detract from it

I always add pics ( maybe not the best quality). It's hard to describe the quality ( fit and finish), when it's the first AR I've ever handled. In my opinion , if it's used , very lightly , I like to start with %20 off and work my way down. In this case I was at %35 in 3 days :). But it's difficult to know , what to ask when one does not fully understand what there selling,

I was having such good results with the EE, this one kinda surprised me , is all. I'll take her for a spin , when my reg shows up .

Good description, good pics, good price and patience.
There are TONS of AR's for sale at any given time so it can be a tough market.
People seem to forget that you are marketing your goods just like any big box store.
You need to make your ad stand out with quality. No offence but those pics were terrible and they way they were posted, cluttered and confusing.
So even though you had a good product at a good price your marketing was off. JMHO

Ar's can be tough to sell on the used market especially if you bought when they were 3 times the price they are now, when the price drops in the new marlet you need to price accordingly, but $900 dosnt seem terrible but not great enough for me too run and buy it but thats me.

I thought that this gun being $1350 without the BUIS and comp, that $900 was a fair price. But like most people stated , AR,s are plentiful. One of the reasons I wanted to sell it was, I wanted to upgrade to a colt. But after some thought , I figured , it's pretty much going to do the same thing.:)

The buis and comp would add 0 value too me yet might mean the world too someone else, thats why the ar market is tough.

To be fair to you I like the stag ar's their one of my favorites but for $900 I wouldnt buy another however someone looking to get into the game it would be a decent buy.

I honestly think it's worth the original price you had it up for. The rifle from stock from the dealer, I'd ask like 1000 with a few hundred down the pipe. Between the it all, there's about 500 of extra parts on there, I think that should garner 200 on the asking price.

As said, for some people, the parts mean shag all. However, it doesn't mean that it should sell for a price of a stock rifle. Different strokes for different folks.

My advice, keep her and enjoy her. If I was going back to a similar length AR, I can assure you it'll be a Stag from Arms East. But, that's just my $0.02

Yes , I'm gonna give it a go , soon as I get the reg. I was looking at the colt IUR , but have since changed my mind. I'm sure it's gonna be a fine gun. I'm just trying to get a better grasp on the EE marget , as I like to price items as fair as possible.:)
