Hi there - I'm looking for a upland game gun in 20 (maybe 16 or 28). I held a Superlight Feather the other day and it fit well enough and I like the english stock. My preference is a 28" barrel not the 26" barrel on the Feather but maybe it is not a huge issue. Did the original Superlights (non-feather with steel receivers) have 28" barrels and did these models have removable chokes / capable of shooting steel shot? Has anyone shot both the originals and the Feathers and what have been your experiences? Do you think it is worth tracking down and original Superlight? Thanks

If memory serves, the current version of Superlight Feathers are offered with 26in bbls only. Those are also chambered for the 2 3/4in cartridge. I've seen the steel receiver ones with 26-28 in barrels - the specimens had fixed and screw-in chokes, again with 2 3/4 chamber only.

I own a similar version i.e. a 20ga Citori Upland Spl, steel receiver with 24in bbls, 2 3/4in chamber and screw-in chokes that are also stamped for steel. Other than bbl length and little more weight, I did not see any remarkable difference in build between the Upland Spl and the non-feather Superlight 20ga guns that I had inspected. I've never used steel ammo in mine.

The current versions of Superlights are no longer available in 16 or 28 - I believe there is still a like new 16 on consignment at Prophet River ..... EDIT: looks like the Superlight 16 is gone - it was listed for quite a while though ....
