Opinions on the M&P40 pro series?

I have an M&P Pro .40 with an Apex competition trigger kit and RAM. I like it so far, but I have only put a couple hundred rounds so far. It feels better than any other handgun I have shot, however I can't say if it is more accurate than other models I have shot. The trigger is so light that it will take some practice for me. I think that for the price it can't be beat.
Do you have a reason for preferring the M&P Pro over the standard model? I think M&Ps are great...I much prefer them to Glocks, although it's really a matter of taste. The M&P has better ergonomics all round, and the APex triggers are easy to install and really nice, although I'd shoot a few hundred rounds through the M&P...the trigger improves a lot with use.
I own an M&P9 Pro (I love it) and have shot the .40 version many times. They're great pistols.
I believe that the G34 (Great pistol by the way) is not allowed in the IPSC production class. That only matters if you're interested in IPSC. If that's the case then you're better off comparing the G17 with the regular or pro M&P models.
I am toying if the MP40 Pro is worth it over the standard model. There is a M&P40 range Kit is in stock at my local range and The M&P pro would have to be ordered in.
The difference between the two is? am I missing anything else?
Standard -- Pro
4.25" slide -- 5" slide
Standard sights -- Fiber optic front and competition rear
standard trigger -- 4-5 lbs factory tweaked trigger
Range kit -- Will have to spend more on holster and additional mags
In stock -- 4-6 week wait after being ordered

While I prefer Glocks over M&P's I much prefer the longer slide M&P's to the regular model.
I found them much better balanced, and much easier to shoot accurately than the shorter 4.25" model. They also have better sights and triggers out of the box and are worth the money and suitable for gun games like IDPA or IPSC.

I have both the Glock G22 Gen 4 and M&P9 5" Pro Series. I think the ergonomics of the M&P are way better than the Glock. I like the palmswells over the Glock backstraps and the grip on the M&P is just as nice as my Colt 1911. But the trigger on the Glock has a better reset. No problems with the jointed trigger, I just ordered a Apex Ram kit for the M&P to see if it makes that much of a difference in reset.
