Opinions on the railed SKS gas tube mount?

I don't have much experience but I've thinkered lots on sks's and tried the Tapco composite gastube rail and it was surprisingly solid despite my doubts of *plastic* on a gas cover. Those are my thoughts on the Tapco, being a traditionalist I still believe the metal gas tube rail would be slightly superior.

I got one for free last year from a friend who sold his SKS and never bothered using it. Yes, it's the NC Star railed, gas tube and some minor filing was needed to make it fit. I no longer have that SKS anymore but it was decent and snug after 500 plus rounds. Looked okay with the Archangel stock.

They have major fitment issues. They do not properly accommodate the piston.

I think it's an NC Star product. I've heard both good and bad things about it. I understand it needs to be filed to fit. Anyone who has tried this mount, how is it?

I bought the new one with the cool looking siderails. THe piston for my sks is too small for the tube and there is a micro gap and the sks bolt won't cycle. NOT HAppy with it, waste of money. I had to file it and fit it and spend all that time. Got it on and took it to the range. loaded two and had to cycle manually.
