My Accumark is easily a 1MOA shooter no problem . The Mark V triggers are easy to adjust and very crisp . I have 2 buddies with the same rifle same caliber ( 30-378 ) and they shoot 1MOA as well
Its a great stock design because unlike other fiberglass stocks with aluminum bedding blocks, its a very trim design ( compared to the HS Precisions / B&C made for heavy barrel varmint and tactical rifles ) . Lots of people dont like the styling of the Weatherby monte carlo high cheekpiece, but it works perfect for a scoped rifle and doesnt boot you in the cheek
Despite all the internet hype about the 9 bolt lugs ( or 6 ) not making contact I put dykem blue on mine and they all seem to bear equally
You will love the short ( relative to Mauser and other 2 lug actions ) bolt throw
Only downside of most Weatherbys ( dont think the non Wby calibers will have this problem ) is they have a huge amount of freebore that can be detrimental to accuracy. One of my friends had his barrel set back and freebore taken out and it helped accuracy a bit
My best shooting Wby is my el cheapo "Synthetic model" in 257Wby. Go figure.
If you want a 338 A-Square then i say go for it.
Dont worry about paying the extra $$ for the brass. Lots of people complain about the cost of Wby brass but they dont realize that generally speaking the Norma ( Wby ) brass is also better quality than the Rem / Win brass.
Price some Norma / Lapua 308Win brass out against Rem / Win 308Win brass
