I'm looking for a 22 cal something for targets. I have looked at the CZ 455 Varmint
Evolution and the Savage Mark II BSEV Both seem very similar. Looking for any imput on these gun's or even a differant gun all together for target shooting in 22 cal. Thanks

I'm not a fan of all those wonky-looking stocks, not even the thumbhole ones. (had one, got rid of it) The Mark II BV is nice though. My Savage wears a similar (identical?) stock.

I really like CZs, but in my experience...you're not getting allot of extra accuracy for the additional $, just a nicer-looking/more refined gun with a trigger I don't like as much as the Accutrigger-Savage.

What 22LRGUY said. Both are great informal target rifles, neither are match quality, but my CZ shoots exactly the same as my savage. The savage trigger was better out of the box, but the CZ trigger is really good too and easily modified with a yodave kit.

Performance wise I'd rank them as equal... The CZ is just made to a higher standard as far as machining, inletting, materials, etc, and to people with a discriminating eye they are more pleasing to look at and fondle. Also, the receiver on CZ's doesn't look like a round piece of pipe with a barrel sticking out of it.
