So I just picked up this brand spanking new shotgun barrel, and I would like the communities opinion. I've never seen this before, have you? What say you? Take a close look at the chamber edge, where the shell rim should sit.

looks like crap, but no info.
What , where , local / take it back , online I presume.
Did you ask the store?
can you feel it with your finger?
drop a round in it.

I wouldn't worry about the edge as much as the uneven interior walls.

If you bought a barrel for a too good to be true price, (not saying you did) you can expect a few "flaws". Everything there can be cleaned up easily enough.

It's a new Dlask 14"!
I've sent an email about it, the other day, but so far, no response. I understand they are busy, and they are a small outfit, so I'll try calling them next week, and hope we can work something out. I also had them thread it for chokes, so it wasn't cheap, but I figured, buy once, cry once. Thanks for the input!

The line you see in the chamber is the seem you can look in one of Simons threads were I dissected one for people saying dlask makes one piece barrels

Not much to worry about on the chamber bevel...Cowboy shooters have been modifying double & 87' shotgun chambers for years in that way to facilitate faster/easier feeding. I would be more concerned over that rough machining inside the chamber....again Cowboys have been honing chambers to facilitate easier extraction.

What do you think is a problem? The chamfer feed ramp? The line where the barrel mouth butts up against the barrel extension?

I had the exact same issue with one of theirs, wouldnt eject, shells got stock etc, garbage

Nice accurate blend.
"Steady hands" should be your user name
Bench vise is a must lol, the first one you do it’s prudent to take your time and periodically drop a shell in and take note of rim placement/position. Or put the barrel in the receiver and check how it all looks, easy after that.

Same as throating and polishing the feed ramp and chamber lip on a 1911, it made a huge difference in how reliably 12g shells fed from a mag fed Grizzly. The box mag doesn’t have much room for 3” shell oal and it got blended a bit as well.
