Just recently got into a CZ 527 in .223, and I'm looking to put a set of optics on it. I have never used anything other than iron sights before, so could use some input in regards to what may be a reasonable scope to consider for it.

I would like to stay under the $300 mark at this point. I plan to shoot within 500 meters initially. The focus being on learning some precision shooting techniques.

Recently purchased a .223 Savage Hog Hunter. I have 2 scopes for it - a Bushnell Elite 3200 fixed 10x40mm (~$300) for long range shooting and a Bushnell Banner 1.5-4x20mm for general purpose shooting.

You will want a scope with parallax adjustment for target shooting. Fixed power scope gives you the best value. Higher the power, the better for bench.

~$300, looking for older Leupold m8 12x/24x or Weaver t36 or Sightron 36x
