The thing about NCStar isn't how any individual scope works, it's that they have such poor QC that you can't be guaranteed that the scope you end up with will be any good. Some people roll the dice and get a decent scope for the price, others get a metal tube with some rattly glass that doesn't really do much besides take up space.
If i got a super deal on one i wouldn't hesitate to put one on a .22, range plinker SKS that has a rail and is going to get beat up by ejecting brass and if it craps out at the range, meh, i've got other guns to use while i am there.
What i would not put one on is a hunting rifle, anything with more recoil than a .223/7.62x39, anything i was competing with, or anything i wanted to make sure it was reliable.
FWIW though i have one of the NCStar long eye relief scopes on a mosin because it was all i could find at the time, and it's (so far) handled the recoil of about 40 rounds of 7.92x54r, but again, i assume it's a matter of when it craps out, not if. It's actually lasted longer than the mount that slipped off of the dovetail almost immediatly.
