Opinons on Winchester model 70 in .338 win mag

Not knowing what your intended use for this rifle is makes it difficult to comment. This is a very nice package for someone who is not recoil sensetive. There are many versions of this combo and you don't specify which model you are asking about. If you can handle this caliber it is a great package for anything in Canada and a superb Moose gun. I used one for years and it took moose with authority. Use only the best controlled expansion bullets and a scope with at least 3.5" of constant eye relief.

I love the model 70, I personaly think it Kicks Remingtons ass, but thats just an opinion. If you are using it for a hunting rifle listen to bigbull, its a great rig, If your using it as a platform for a precision rig, I think it is great, But Talk to ATRS or some of the other builders on this site for thier expert opinions, I love the model 70 action and the Pre 64 has been the foundation for many a great rifle and probably worth a good buck if you can find anyone who wants to part with it.
