As some of you may know i got a CZ557 that i want to sell to build a custom but money isn't at the top those days so i might keep it, buy a scope for it and use it for next moose season. I narrowed my research to 2 scopes who are the Swaro Z5 2.4-12X50 and the Leupold VX-5HD 3-15X44. In a perfect world i would put an european scope on an european rifle and the new z5 look to be very clear and compact but i feel like the Leupold turrets would be more suitable for 300y + shots and if i manage to get the funds to get my custom i can easily switch the Leupold on the new rifle and not loose money there by rebuying a scope.

What are you guys thought on this and how do you see it?

Thanks in advance

I've owned a Z3 scope and I was not blown away. I have a vx6 that is not HD, but have looked through the vx5 HD scopes. I prefer the features and weight of the Leupold over the swarovski. Optics wise, I would call it a draw with the HD.

If you are interested in a firedot reticle on the Leupold, it moves farther ahead of the swaro.

yes i would pick the illuminated reticle. its about the same price and same quality but the Leupold come with the ZL2 turrets wich i would greatly appreciate on open road. Thanks

Well, the firedots and leupold illuminated reticles are fantastic. The motion activated switch saves battery life like crazy. You can leave one on and put it in the safe for 3 months and it'll come on when you pick it up. The only downside is the reticles can be a little thick.

Anyone use the Warnes QD rings on their rifle? Im torn between the QD and non QD. Rifle has iron sights so the QD would be handsome but in the other hand i want a solid setup.

Thanks in advance
