I've got a robarms xcr in 6.8 spc in the mail and I'm trying to figure out what to put on it. I'm not super familiar with black rifles but this must be similar to mounting an AR..... I think. So this rifle will be used in the 25-300 yds ish range. I'm thinking ACOG 4x32 or going with a rifle scope such as a Vortex viper pst 1-4. If I use a rifle scope, what kind of mount do I want? Probably an AR type riser? Larue? Leupold? Warne? I want illumination and I will be using in low light. What do you guys think?

Also everybody's frigging websites show out of stock! Any body have these things?

My preference would be a variable magnification optic along the lines of a 1-4 or 1.5-5, choose your price point and go from there. LaRue is always a good choice for mounts, but the others you've mentioned are solid mounts too. Also consider AD or Nightforce Rings.

I was starting to lean towards the variable scopes. I have a NF 2.5-10 sitting here that I may start with but I think it's too big. Thanks for the tip on AD. I just ordered a recon mount from them.

While the S&B short dot looks fantastic, It's a little out of my price range right now. I see there is a used one on the EE too.

That leupold looks interesting, I can't find much info on it anywhere. What is the part number?

Oh I found it wasn't looking under VX-R. Thanks for the post and the review it might be just what I'm looking for. Darn leupold always comes up with something!

I've run : eotech, aimpoint, fixed ten power, falcon 4-14 and a trijicon 1-4 accupoint on my 6.8 and 223 and by far the best is the trij.
.
Make sure you get one with clear hold over marks though, unless you want to turret turn.
The 6.8 ballistics aren't as flat at longer ranges, so you will need a little extra holdover.
AD mounts are real nice as well.
