Guys my gun showed up today so now my next purchase, after ammo of course, is an optic. The gun is a Robinson Arms XCR. I am shooting .223 and 7.62x39, I am looking to shoot at 200 yards and do not want to spend over $500.00 if possible. This is a semi auto gun and I will be range shooting as well as hunting with it. I am also going to be getting a long range rig in 308 so spending too much on the XCR eats the long range rigs budget which is really where i want to spend the optic money. Suggestions guys?? I was thinking something with at least a 12x top end.

For around that price you can get the Vortex Viper 1-4 power. I have only heard really good things about that scope. If your price does include a mount it may be too much. Then I would look at the Millet DMS-1 1-4. It's a little under 300.
If you would rather have a red dot then the Aimpoint CompC3 is good for 500. For 220 there is also the Vortex Sparc and the reviews have been very good for it also and will be able to stand up to a .223.

As mentioned, the Viper PST would be a good choice. You may also want to look into a red dot of some sort as you're not planning on shooting past 200. $500 should be more than enough to pick up a nice Aimpoint or EoTech of the EE.

I have been looking at the Millet and Elite, I am looking for soemthing with magnification for sure but I am not liking the look of a large scope on the gun as well as the ahndling of the gun for hunting will be a problem. I think a minimum magnification would be 3-4x to start. I am heding to the range now since the gun showed up early to make sure it cycles and shhots alright. I am pretty stoked now for an optic as I have the gun, mags, ammo so the next step is for sure an optic. OOOOOOOOOOOOOO I am liking that millet. The price of the is outside what i want to pay for this setup but the Millet is really to my liking. The bushnell is alright too but I do prefer the Millet's adjusability over the Bush's......That Millet is on my list now to google and get informed about. THANKS!!!!
