I just bought the MR-1 and understand the options for optics may be limtied to to mounting issues. I wonder if owners cann let me know about thoer ex[pereinces and perhaps give me some suggestions? Any info is appreciated.

Low Burris steel rings and a Zeiss 3X9X40 is a great set up... JP.

This is what CAN be done with this rifle. Tri-Rail, Magpul AFG, Surefire X300 and remote cable, ADM Sling mount, Viking Tactics sling, Tango Down bipod & Mesa Tactical cheek riser. It all works together great.

I haven't used the Benelli before but do have the Vortex 1-4 PST on my AR and I highly recommend it as well! If you have the cash, a great lifetime investment is the 1-4 Vortex Razor, or if you are in no rush, the new 1-6 Gen 2 Razor is just starting to show up and the reviews on them are amazing.

TRS-25 will lower 1/3 cowitness with the factory irons. Vortex has good warranty but I hear to many user issues, I lump them in with the other flash in the pan stuff.

I wanted to keep the irons so I went with Leupold see through (I know, I know) rings and a Redfield 2x7 with the Accu Range reticle. Works fine and I can still use the irons. I plan to put a cheekrest of some kind onto it and I need to put a decent 2 point sling on it.

Would be interested to know what cheekrest solution there is out there for this gun. If you want to use a scope, it seems to me that the stock stock :) has a ridiculous drop.

Thanks for all the info. Ended up buying a Vortex Viper PST 2.5 X 10 X44. Took it out and once sighted in, shooting nice tight consistent groups. Awesome scope for the price. Bought it in Kelowna at Grouse River Outfitters. Super staff and knowledgeable. BTW - I friking love that Benelli. I had a Bushmaster ar-15 but pefer this.
