I have a 587 Remington (Dont hate me)LOL.
Looking for some optics that wont break the bank. Indoor range shooting 50 yrds and plinking the occasional woodchuck, and of course getting my 10 year old daughter out there to enjoy the shooting sports. I saw a 3x9x40 bushnell on sale for like $79
at wally world its no swarovski but I could sure use some advice as Im no scope expert! Thank boys!;)

The power of the scope is a personal choice but the most important consideration is to ensure your scope is paralax adjustable. That said I would go a minimum of 4 X 12 but that may be because of my "old eyes" condition.:D

Look for a scope with a graduated scale in yards on the objective (front) lens of the scope. This will ensure that you have clear focus at different distances. Most none adjustable paralax scopes are very distorted at distances under fifty yards.

Rod.:)

for someone on a budget...

Bushnell rimefire scope's 3-9x32mm are ok, i guess... first scope I had on my 10/22. good thing about them is they come with rings...

If you want higher magnification, Barska scopes can be found for cheap and have only herd good things about them...
