Just looking at an active thread where someone was asking a dealer about the warranty with a particular brand of scope.

And as a few note sometimes it's almost impossible to get a straight answer from a company about what is covered and if you have to have a receipt etc etc.

So give up your "first hand" stories by brand - who stands behind their scope and who gives you the run around.

I recently chose a Burris scope for a couple reasons - the first was I just plain liked the scope - nice and clear, loved the E1 reticle.

But the thing that sealed the deal was the warranty.

Burris has a "forever" no hassle warranty and will fix the scope EVEN IF YOU BREAK IT - no receipt, no original owner, no abuse/misuse/accident clauses.

I am not aware of anyone else in the business that offers a warranty even close to that (which is why I started this thread).

I did use that Burris warranty. I was not the original owner but I got a new scope for free!

Elcan fixed the DR illumination knob after the end of the warranty for free. But it seems this is a common problem that they correct one by one. Could have been different with another problem.

Bushnell has treated me very well.
Dad's old Scopechief has the Command Post and activated through the windage cap.
Sent in for repairs and they suggested I accept a new scope.
I declined as it belonged on dad's old Schultz. They repaired it and a while later
it went ka-putt again.
I sent it back in and they called and told me they don't have any parts for this old bird.
Told them that I'd like to keep this old package as dad bought it.
They offered up a new B & L and told me they would send the original back on the understanding
that it was not to be sent back in.
Seems they have a "Sentimental" clause in their policy.
This scope later on in life had a mishap and they wished to upgrade it also.
Nope, fix'er.
They did, but I suspect it too will be on the chopping block next time.

No ill regrets with this company.
Leupold is gaining my inventory count now.
Something 'bout this glass, shape and size that had me bite the hook.

Tizz me story............
