Optics - NcStar Mark III Tactical Series

I have been looking at some sweet NcStar Mark III Tactical series scopes. This is gonna go on a Stag Arms Model 4R. The magnifications/scopes come in.....

3-9x42 P4 SNIPER
3-9x42 RANGEFINDER
3-9X42 MIL DOT

4x32 P4 SNIPER
4x32 RANGEFINDER
4x32 MIL DOT

Any info on which reticle is the best in your opion and which magnifications which best for which job and what range would be great as I am still slightly confused on how they work.

I have the 3-9 P4. Its very good. I like it a lot. Holds its zero even if I take it on and off.

I have had both P4 and Mil-Dot Rubber Armor and standard and they have both held up quite well on my CZ 858 & SKS. Plus both of these rifle's have way more recoil than an AR platform so it should be quite good for optic's on a budjet. I would go for the Sniper version due to the quick range finding reticale and the pre-zeroed bullet drop adjustment built into the scope. Also if you buy from Marstar and ever have an issue they fix it for free & no hassle's.

I watched a friend try to zero his rifle with a NcStar scope. It didn't track properly, and the zero shifted. It has been retired for paintball.
Another friend just bought one, hasn't shot it yet.
