I understand that the Optima and the Escort MP-A shotguns, while basically the same firearm, have slightly different magazines.
I have an Optima on the way and I'm very excited.

Can anyone that owns the Optima version tell me with certainty how many rounds of 2.75 inch shells fit in the factory magazine tube?
There seems to be mixed info online as to whether it's 4 or 5.

I'm trying to determine which extension I need in order to get to 6 x 2.75 inch while staying under 6 x 3 inch as required by law.
I see that S&J has a +1 for the Optima. Wondering if that will get me there or not.

Thanks.

The plus 1 might do it...? The plus 2 will for sure.
The Optima will take 5 stock and the Escort will just fall short of 5.
Just make sure you get the extension you need....... as in the one for the Optima not the Escort.

The Optima apparently had a different receiver than the Escort.
I understand that the Optima receivers are from the Hatsan's sporting line and are being used to fill orders for their tactical line.
I do not recall where I read this. Could have been here... I've been doing a lot of searching and reading on the topic so not sure.

Apparently the only real word differences are the markings, and the magazine tube length and thread pitch.
I'm not clear if the difference in magazine length is enough to affect capacity or not.

I just know I have an Optima coming and want to order an extension that will fit and work for my intended purpose.

Talked with them yesterday at shot show, got no where really, other then some QC issues, the other factor is 2 different styles on thread lenght. They seem to have used the 2 styles of factory mag tubes on both sporting and non sporting shotguns. Post a photo of your gun with the mag cap off from the side and ill tell you which one of the mag tubes we have that will work.
Next week when. I have time I will post a sticky on this with photos
