Options for a .22 Hornet double rifle

Hello everyone. I hope you're all staying safe and doing well. I was wondering what my options were for a double rifle chambered in .22 Hornet. It seems like a good option for a double rifle: ammo isn't too expensive or hard to find, but it's also not the first thing to go in the event of a panic buy. Unfortunately, the only offerings I've seen for such a rifle have been extremely expensive (by my standards) hand crafted artisanally decorated custom pieces from master craftsman across the United States and Europe. The cheapest one I saw cost $8000, with most of the others being over $15 000. They were very nice rifles: one of them (called "The Hummingbird, by Austrian gunsmith Peter Hofer) had actual gold inlay of small Hummingbirds on the receiver. I'm currently not looking for an heirloom rifle to pass on to my children, I'd just like a simple, lightweight double rifle to take hiking: something that I'm not afraid to get a few mud or scratches on. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any inexpensive, mass produced offerings.

Are there any gunsmiths who would be willing to build such a setup, for a cost under $2000? I've been looking around, but I haven't been able to find anything so far (a lot of these gunsmiths' websites look like they haven't been updated since Chretien was Prime Minister). I was wondering if there was anybody here who knew a gunsmith who could do the job? I'm always happy to support a Canadian gunsmith when I can. Take care, and enjoy your long weekend.

Dunno if serious or just on something really really strong but not sharing.

If serious, give your head a shake. If on something really strong, step away from the bong for a while....

About the only double rifle I'd like to own would be a 303 British or 7x57R or something similar for deer hunting, maybe a moose.

303brit would be a good one. 8x57r would also be good, and those ones are somewhat affordable (tenda had a few for $2k+ last I looked).

I'll end up with a double rifle one day. The dream is a real classic cartridge like 375 H&H or 9.3x74r, but it'll probably end up something more like a baikal in 45-70 or 3006 unless I wait till I'm old and grey.

7x57r and 450/400 3" nitro for me if buying one.
25/20 if i could ever afford a true custom however id settle for a rook rifle design as well. No real use for larger as cape buffalo and water buffalo are the largest things ill likely ever hunt and thats why i have a 458wm. I can see the allure of small game hunting with a double though. Regulation would have to be even tighter on a small bore though which would increase the expense and difficulty and limit loads severely

I'd smile if someone placed a SxS in 22 Hornet, 25-20 or 32-20 in my hands. It's a conspicuous comsumer sort of a concept..." I have enough money that I can afford things like this "...which I do not, lol.
I had an old Ranchero... Ford car / truck looking, trailer park units ( acquired it for the motor...was rare).
Old fella around town told me " Those were a 'Rich Man's Toy' back in the day. A working man would never buy one, can't haul more than a dozen paint cans, box of supplies and maybe a step ladder...useless for the most part."
A nice SxS in one of the above mentioned obsolete cartridges would be like that...not useless, but sort of a waste of a 'Smith's skills?
But definitely a BBQ type, show-off type gun.
