Options for handgun optics

I have a new Glock 17 gen 5 FS 9mm pistol. I am looking for a recommendation for optic sights for it.

I will tell you that i am 100% blind in my left eye so am not sure how it will go, so do not want to invest too much in it off the bat.

I am looking for recommendations for what kind of sight? Mounting options ( I am not interested in investing in getting slide milled until I can be sure that i will be able to use optics)

Thoughts?
 
A laser sight may work, there are several mounting options rail mount, grip mount, trigger guard mount and there may be more.
 
Ok so I bit the bullet this morning. Was looking through the Cabela sight and they had a thanksgiving sale with free shipping. On top of that they also had the Burris FastFire III Red Dot Reflex Sight - 3 MOA Dot Reticle on sale for $269 which was almost $120 off the regular price. Also ordered a WOLTIS LONJN mount for Glock 17 from A-Zon. Hopefully it will all be in next week and I can give it all a whirl. If it does not work I will be listing it all on the EE.
 
Got the sight mounted, the loctote is cured so went out to the range and zeroed in. Started at 7 yards and moved to 15. Happy with the sight and the group (all shot from a rest). Free hand shots were not as accurate but overall happy with red dot sight set up.
