I have been trying to get my wife interested in shooting/carrying a camp gun when we are out she isn't interested in hunting but doesn't have an issue with having a rifle at her disposal especially now that our son is 3 years old.
I have tried everything I could think of but every firearm she has held had some kind of issue for her but I finally did it I came up with a rifle that she doesn't have an issue carrying/using and it has more power than a 30-30 out past 100 yards.
It is a T/C Contender carbine with a 14" 45 Colt barrel overall length of this carbine is a super short 29" and it weighs 6.0 lbs with a Leupold 2-7X Compact scope mounted and 5.1 lbs without the scope.
280gr WFNGC's with 25grs H110 = over 1500fps muzzle velocity...
I'm out of 240gr XTP's right now but this is the bullet that I want to load for her I won't push it hard probably only to 1550fps - 1600fps to keep the recoil down for her.
