Good afternoon shooters! Thanks to the 40 people that came out to CQBm6 yesterday! The weather was great and the food was better. A huge thanks to our range staff; Dave, Ken, and Greg. With out the efforts of our many volunteers we would not be able to have these matches. I think catering worked out quite well again this year. Thanks to Colleen and Lisa, from This Little Piggy Went to Market for supplying us with tasty BBQ yet again. Thanks to Joe at Action Trophy and Engraving for making up the awards again this year.

Congratulations to this years winners. We awarded 6 winners in each class.
1st place Trophy
2ed place Plaque
3rd place ORA teaspoon (Thanks Ganderite for donating)
4th place Gold Coin
5th place Silver Coin
6th place Bronze Coin

Most Improved Trophy
As last year you must shoot 3 matches this season. The winner will be the person with the largest delta between their highest and second lowest score. The lowest score is discarded to allow to equipment malfunctions and the like. The winner will be announced at the ORA AGM in the spring.

If you have not collected your award please let me know. Thanks to Dave for organizing another Vintage CQB rifle match after lunch, it looked like everyone had a great time. Range control thanked us for making sure they were well fed too. See you all in October.

A beautiful day. Dry and not too hot. The day before and after had rain. Good scheduling!
Competition is tough. Winners had very high scores. Dave and Andrew put on an excellent match.

Congrats to whoever arranged the prize table. Always nice to go home with something. My gun locker now has a Glock key ring. Seems appropriate.

Food was excellent. A drink would have been nice.

The Vintage shoot was educational. Course of fire was similar to the regular (no pistol, and more time to re-load). I used a Lee Enfield #4T. A bolt action rifle is clearly slower and less effective than a semi. I can see now that the Americans with their Garand were right.

I had a fingerprint on the camera lens. Some pictures have a blur.

Good times!
But this scoring system beats me every time - who can tell me what's better to be a worst Master or best Operator??? Damn, I like those trophies and bragging rights what come with it... Congrats to all winners!

Another great CQB match and huge thanks to Dave, Ken and Greg, and our match director Andrew for keeping us going. I had equipment malfunctions and still had a great day. Big thanks to DoubleApex for letting me use his AR when mine bit the dust. Nothing worse than a bolt action AR. Next match I'll test my gear beforehand. It was made even better on the 407 coming home, when a black SUV came up fast and close behind me, then turned on the blue and red lights. As I pulled over the SUV pulled up alongside, and a big grinning driver flipped me the bird and drove off. I have a sneaking suspicion it was a CQB'er.

Another awesome day on the range, the weather was perfect and the company was even better. A big thank you has to go out to Dave, Ken, Greg, and Andrew for running such a smooth match and to the ladies catering the BBQ from This Little Piggy Went to Market for the great food. After finishing third for the third straight year in the championship it’s becoming clear to me that I need to put some more effort into my pistol scores... we can’t have my brother winning all the time now can we!

Great weather and a great match. I'm still thinking about that bbq chicken. Thanks to Dave, Ken, Greg and Andrew. We all appreciate the time you guys volunteer to make this all happen; thank you.

Here is a little test footage from the GoPro rig. The angle worked out pretty good. Note please the brain not working at 1:02
