Due to a recent schedule change, the ORA Service program conducted a CQB mini clinic today at Langemark Range, CFB Borden.
The weather was fantastic. Clear skies but not too hot. The dew on the grass was gone early so we didn't even get wet laying on the ground.
The clinic was small. which resulted in lots of attention for each shooter from the instruction and the ability to get through a lot of drill repetitions in short order, with target analysis in between. This was no high round count, converting ammo into noise and empty casings training session. This as a chance to really knuckle down and get better and the more challenging aspects of the ORA CQB CofF. It was also a chance to reinforce required safety aspects of the match which is a good refresher for some participants who have not been to a match in a while and others who are relatively new to the sport.
There was a mix of participants. Senior and very senior (for lack of a better term) shooters along with newbies. Everybody improved their ability to make good hits on target as the day progressed. Impressively so in fact. Skills were improved and confidence was increased for all. These are all good things for participants in the Championship match which is right around the corner.
Sorry folks, no pictures to share. Event security and all.....or I simply forgot my camera. Honestly, with small class size there would have been next to no time to be playing shutter bug anyway. There was shooting to be done, and that had to take priority.
