47 competitors braved the wet conditions at CFB Borden to shoot CQB match 6. Reports indicate that the sky cleared in time for the scoring phase and a great time was had by all. Apparently some shooters really thrive on competion in wet conditions. Congratulations to the winners. Next match....the championship!

Modified prone in the rain = first shot, lots of smoke and steam, second target obscured. By the time the air clears... AND STOP!

The fun part was watching your targets flop over from being soaked, patches not adhering to the paper, bullet holes in the targets looking like they were shot from behind. The shooting gods were with us in the scoring phase of the match, the rain stopped.

Wet crotch...

Had a fun day, it is always great to get out and compete in real service conditions.

I have an hour and a half drive home and was still wet when I got home. Thanks again to Tim and all that make these events happen.

If you hadnt gotten that head shot you would have been first place Operator!

Great match and good thing I didn't catch a cold!

As JRW mentioned, it was really smokey during the modified prone. I quit smoking 2 years ago and oh boy it seems like I was right back at it after doing the rapids!
Some lessons learned from yesterday match:

1) Bring a tent or at least an umbrella next time is 50% chances of rain or more....
2) Get a real waterproof raincoat! Condor jackets are not waterproof! Do not trust their ads!
3) Bring a hat or swimming goggles (couldn't see crap with my shooting glasses)!
4) Iron sights rule! Keep the scope in the bag when is pouring rain!
5) Close my ammo box in between matches. It became a nice fishbowl during the practice. At least I know Norinco ammo works even after been submerged for a couple of hours :)

I know, if i had pulled just a couple of shots I could have finally won something!

Or I could learn how to actually really shoot my pistol and try to win some prizes with the big boys! ;-)

+1 I really need some work with my pistol I only scored 9 points with the hand gun for the entire match, might just have to go back to the Desert Eagle again lol.

Thanks again to Tim, Dave, and Jeremy it was another great event and its always fun to see how everybody holds up in the rain.
