A refreshing shoot this morning. Cold enough that the snow did not stick to the dropped mags. If fell off and shook out easily.

Note to self: Don't grease the rifles when shooting in cool weather. At least this time all my ammo was pointed the right way in the mags.

A few more snowy pictures.
B.C. CQBers note the absence of Birkenstock sandles. More traction is needed in snow.:p

Doing the walk 'n shoot

The brass sweep in the snow reminded me of a flock of wild turkeys scratching and pecking in snow covered grain field stubble.

Nothing like some cold weather and snow to separate the Men/Women from the Boys/Girls!
I think we've found multicams weakness! ;)

Frigid conditions? It was a beautiful Saturday with the smell of cordite in the air, lol. Congrats to the winners and a special thanks to the co-ordinaters and range staff. These matches just keep getting better and better. Whats this countback thing thought?

What a great weekend myself and the guys from Ottawa had.
Some great laughs at dinner on Friday and we hit SFRC and One Shot Tactical on the way up :)
Our wallets are a bit lighter now! lol

I'm glad we had a practice run to get things sorted out and running properly before the actual scoring took place for the matches!
It was my 1st snow event...
Hope to make some more CQB events in 2014!

Congratulations Bolivar,well done.
I looked at my own scores and did the shoulda's. Shoulda been more accurate with the pistol. Not getting any points on 2 targets nocks you down the list. Shoulda got all my shots off too. During the practice part of the modified prone, when I was going to get up off the ground I saw that my 4 round mag had slid out of the pouch and onto the ground. I was able to pick it up and repouch it as I was still on the ground. In the match part of the modified prone I stood up after the prone part and went to load my 4 rounder. It wasn't there. It fell out of the pouch onto the ground, just like during the practice. Go figure.

Fantastic experience, met a lot of very motivated people. Hope this shooting discipline continues to attract new members. Thanks again to everyone involved in setting up this match. Professionally done, ran smoothly, safely executed. Looking forward to CQB in 2014!

Oh, sweet! I was too late to get in on it this year, but very much look forward to participating next year. A little snow never hurts, should call it CCQB; Canadian Close Quarters Battle.
