I was browsing the ORA website and came across mention of Fox Field range. Never heard of that one before can anyone explain where it is? Also saw mention of a couple Vintage matches at Borden. That’s great news. Borden is farther for me than Winona but I find the 223 limit on most of the lanes limiting. I have a few rifles I like to try but almost all are over 223.

Fox field is a bare field with no set butts and firing point. It is possible to setup a shoot at varying distances but most match directors will not ask for this range due to the issues related to it. As you mentioned there is some matches coming to winona but the majority will be at borden where the calibre restriction is less.

Been Foxfield many times, as an instructor and rifleman. Good layout for infantry live fire with movement sectional attacks. Arcs of fire max are posted, red flags various points. Also shot there once with a shooting club. All coordination with Range Control is required.

Fox Field would be the last range as you head to the Lyle gate.

It is just your typical cow pasture. Walk out 300 to 800 yards and put up targets and then try to find a place to lay down where you can still see the targets.

I shot some unknown distance sniper matches there.
