Is it still on?

From the Aug. anouncement I'm guessing that it will be $30. What time do we start? Anything else we need to know?

Rain or shine?

Thanks!

Try to get there by 0800hrs. The day actually starts at 0900 but there is some paperwork to do before.
Rain or shine so bring what you need to stay dry or to stay cool.
Ear protection is a must, plugs at the very least, muffs are better, plugs and muffs if you desire.
A lunch might be a good idea, but there is a Tim Horton's and Subway on base, as well as MacDonalds in Angus. Bring plenty of water to drink.
You may bring your own rifle if you desire, but please note that your ATT is NOT valid for DND ranges.
You are correct on the $30 for the day, but this also includes another return day just in case you are not hooked the frst time
Please let the board know what you thought of the Intro Day and if you think you got your $30 worth.

How short notice is this question. can people just show up and pay. shooting on this short of notice isn't neccessary. i would just like to checkout the entire program.

Trevor60 if you come you'll more than likely shoot... it's not that hectic on an intro day. The program is geared for spending all of the time with newbies, answering their questions and dealing with the practical aspects of target shooting both short range 300 yards if we can call it that and what's required for the longer ranges out to 1000.

Tom's info is good, the bare minimal is the eye and ear protection you need at least that.

The rest is the getting people especially the shooters familar with the range, range procedures, bringing equipment to the line, clearing rifles off the line, familiarizing them with target pulling and what's happening down range in the pits, pretty straight-forward stuff.

I did it four years ago and haven't looked back since... there's something about whacking a V-bull at 1000 yards in this long range game...

first walk.... then run...
