Just to let y'all know that this upcoming Sunday, 17 August, the ORA is conducting the precision matches again at the Mons range at CFB Borden. If you are interested and have never shot these matches, come out and test your skills. The matches are the the standard CFSAC matches 61-65. They are shot at 300, 400, 500, 600 and 800 yards. Snaps at 300 and 500y, a mover at 400y and deliberates at 600 and 800y. For more details, go to the ORA website. I hope to see a good turn out this Sunday.

August 17th ?

Is this Sunday's match something that I could attend to observe?
I am a new to the target rifle shooting and am casting about to find what I finding in which direction I will go. I have enquired of the ORA Sectretary and am awaiting their reply.
regards

The ORA secretary might be on his way to the DCRA matches that start tomorrow, so it might take a while to get an answer. In short, there is no reason you can not attend and observe.

Pick
Make sure to pack proper (weather suited) attire, ear & eye protection ,a comfortable carry able chair and binocs or spotting scope so you can watch the targets run :) ... and plenty of water.
Heck,if you're up to it Ed may even put you to work in the butts on target crew.
Forcast looks good, not sure how many regulars will be in Hottawa.
Will try to be there.

Precision match

Once I figure out how many rounds I need i'll be headed there. Hoping that weather is better (dryer) than last weekend. I've never shot a precision match yet, this looks like alot of fun.

Pickaxe, ther are usually a few spectators there, PM me and we can make arrangements to meet there, you can hang out with myself and friends; I'll tell you how to get there. There is a timmy's on base we can meet at.

I'm just hopeing Terry and Thomas miss a few for me so's i don't look so bad, laff.

Mike.

BTW Gord, i'm making the PPC brass right now. Not complicated but somewhat time consuming.

Mike,
Patience ...turnings just like knitting. Can be done in front of the tv.
Just keep reminding yourself that the brass will outlive the barrel and
keeps things in perspective.
Hope to be there Sunday.Stillrough moving yet but at least it'll be sunny and DRY!
57 rounds very minimum.Bring extra.and lotsa water.
Gord

Gentlemen,
Thanks very much for your generous welcome and advice. I will be there and I would be happy to lend a hand at whatever needs doing.
Ice-pick I will send you a PM {now that I know what that is} so that we can hook up.
Again thanks for the welcoming words.
