I'm unpacking the vehicle right now and repacking for day 2 of the clinic, happening tomorrow Sunday!

I'm sun beat. Hope all of you are resting up for a busy day.

Since the megaphone ain't working too well, I have to tweak the locking mechanism some more in preparation for the abuse (just kidding) that I'm going to heap upon you clinic attendees! :D

Gotta get back to work. So what do you think about the pistol instructor? I sure as heck have learned a lot! Did he ever detect my long existing mistakes!

Cheers,
Barney

I sure learned a lot too. Like how to use a proper two-hand pistol hold. Bringing in that insructor was a great idea.

damn i wish i could be there, three exams mon-wed take precedence unfortunately

Ahhhh, exams. May you be forever a part of my past and NEVER IN MY FUTURE AGAIN.

As for the clinic, day 1 was awesome. Pistol training is something I have never had before and I learned a lot. My shooting can only improve. Gotta try to get some dry fire practice done in the morning before Day 2 starts. We'll see how well I respond to the alarm in the morning.

Hmmm, rain in the forcast. I think I am going to wish I had sprung for the butler creek flip ups for my scope, and a caddy for my umbrella :)

Christ.. There's more furniture there than in my living room? What, did you guys move in for the weekend?? :D :D

Sorry I had to miss it, was wondering how you all made out with the rain this morning?

That was nasty to be shooting in.

Great clinic, Great People........Excellent Weather????;) Sunburned and waterlogged on the same weekend!!

It was great learning from everybody today. I need to figure out my equipment and get set for the season!!:ar15:

Amazing how much water and condensation can live inside your rifle and pistol!! But they seem clean and happy after an hour or so of cleaning.

Thanks to Hungry and TimK!! You guys make it work!

It was nice to see that so called "junk" firearms like Norc and Para Ordinance performed so well in varied conditions. If fact I don't think there were any failures this weekend that could not be traced to ammunition or brain farts. SAFETY OFF - THEN SHOOT :D

Another nice thing was that the guys with the high $$$ rigs did not have $$$ high dollar attitudes or vice versa. A good group of guys all trying to learn what gear worked, what didn't and how to get rounds closer to the middle of the target.

Lots of little tips and ideas were provided by the instructors and shared back and forth between the participants. Plenty of jokes, good and bad :) were shared by all.

I figured out how I want to evolve my tac vest and mag pouches, pretty much confirming what I had already figured out. But good to verify before purchasing more gear. Avoiding buyers remorse.

I also learned that my pretty basic gear provided by the cheapest supplier actually worked not bad at all. No major changes required. Good 2 Go.

Wow! Where to start?

Tim/Barney/Greg; I can't thank you guys enough for your instruction this weekend. I multiplied my knowledge of shooting many times thanks to you guys. I know a great deal of effort and time goes into putting these things together, I want to make sure that you realize how much it is appreciated.

I think the most important thing I took away from the weekend is that the most important gear any of us has is our body and mind. Time to get those as lean as the rifles we shoot!

I learned much from the other shooters as well, and my partner was a great help when my brain froze on the life-fire drills (thanks!)

Great experience.
Great instructors.
Great shooters.

My only suggestion; this should be a 2-weekend (4 day) course. I can see where we were rushing through some content because of time restrictions. I'd attend and bring every shooter I knew to a 4-day version of this course.

Awesome as always. Second year for me and I'm sure I'll go next year too.
I was sick as the proverbial dog but glad I came.
On Saturday, Pat's tips, trick and personal coaching were once again fantasticmade up for the cost alone.
On Sunday the fun started early and Tim, Hungry and Greg put us thru the paces, racheting things up, notch by notch.
We shot in the rain for a bit had a good B.S and Jokes session while the lightning played out, we finished up and were out the gate by 15:00.
I can say with a certain degree of honesty that the ORA provides some best courses out there, great instruction, tips and great fellow shooters.
BRING SUNSCREEN! I look like a fat Grey Tomato!
Looking forward to SR and mabey DR!

So a bit of a funny story. I was fortunate enough to receive a medal for the match on Sunday. When I showed my girls at home (6 and 3 yrs) they both yelled "Chocolate", grabbed it from me and spent 5 minutes trying to get the foil off and/or break it in half (they figured it was one of those chocolate coins eh)

I had to fight to get it back....and I won:p

Tim & Barney, you guys were great. Thanks to Pat for the one on one coaching with the pistol skills. Also thanks to Bolivar for putting up with me and my crappy scoring skills. Had an awesome time as well. Look forward to shooting these matches this season.
