Here is a sample of the ORA (www.ontariorifleassociation.org) Service Rifle matches 1-4 being hosted at Connaught Ranges August 2010

Timk and Barney forming up the shooters for Target #s and Relays:

And yes, the shooters are already in 4 ranks. You do the math and figure out how many targets I had to deal. And we had up to 12 handhelds in EACH bay! Ask the shooters how well we managed all those handhelds!! :)

Yes, even M14 Norincos show up on the line! This shooter is a celebrity! :D

Yes, females rock at this game, too!

Match 2.4 15 meters, Static Turns:

Turn to your Right, Safeties ON! 4 second exposure !

Another shot of the Match 2.4, Static Turns!

Yes, civvies shoot shoulder to shoulder with the military. Try doing that at your home gun club! :D Notice, fingers off the trigger. Most PRO!

Yes a gym membership will serve you better than some very expensive M4 rig! We do have run-downs. The new matches have not done away with them! TimK holds on to his hat from the backblast of the shooters! :)

Even celebrity CGNutters shoot the ORA Service Rifle matches. I'm not telling you which popular CGNutter is featured here!

AR platforms are popular, but other non-restricted black rifles do shoot very well! What's stopping you? This good looking shooter is from QC! :D

And one of the CZ (or VZ?) 858's !! Look at this rig!

Which other shooting game or ORA discipline has a Cold Steel SRK knife draw? Timk and Barney looking somewhat busy! :D

Thanks for the pics Hungry

My CZ858 was really fun to shoot... but totally non-competitive out at 300m and 400m... the main reason being the use of 1x red-dot (guessing the hold-over) and the cheap surplus ammo.
Would have been much better if i had a 4x mildot scope.
Anyway, i did pretty good on Match 2 (the short range stuff 100m to 15m).
Like always, we had plenty of fun and looking forward the next match.

Are the match results ever going to be posted on the ORA website?

You'll have to bounce this question off the intelligent people like Timk or the ORA Secretary. Now regarding OpSec, I have gone through the CD of photos I was sent and I selected photos that did not reveal frontal shots of the CF pers. With the results, I'm sensitive to posting full names, ranks, and units... not a good practice while we are in conflict with the Taliban. ;)

I better get off my butt and speak to the www.drca.ca folks !

Cheers,
Barney

FWIW - If the results are sent to Fazal or Des they will get them over to Mike H. for web publication immediately. It would make most sense if match organizers substitute real names with a "nom de guerre" where they think it appropriate. Looks like a GREAT match!!

That's my mom! :D
