The ORA conducted Service Conditions Rifle Match #5 this past weekend at Connaught Ranges.

As is typical it was really fun, if somewhat exhausting event. I mean exhausting in a good way, tired out from having fun.

As always was a real sense of camaraderie between all participants. Even thought we were each technically competing against each other, everybody was willing to pitch in to help each other out and overcome any challenges that were presented.

46 participants overall for both days of the match, with 15 civilians. The remainder were CF personal. And as usual the CF members owned the event taking the top three places in the grand aggregate and team statistics. These shooters really know how to get rounds down range and on target.

Us Civilians with our "space guns" could not keep up in the end (okay, to be fair there were only a few "space guns", mine being one technically :D). This shows that equipment alone does not make a great rifleman.

To the MD and staff, thank-you for the great job you did organizing the match. Job well done.

To the participants, thanks, you made it a great time for me. Please share your comments and pictures.

GT-did you ever find your belt? :p

Are you guyz as sun-baked as I am? Sounds like you guys had a load of fun! Good on ya for getting them uniforms ready for their National matches. :D

Nobody is a sun baked as you Barney. LOL.

Seriously, by the end of shooting on Saturday I was pretty much done in.

Hey, inside your quarters, at night.... did Timk start yelling, "Watch, move, and shoot?" while in his sleep?

You see, my hosts here in Turner Valley asked what the yelling was around O Dark hundred hours. They heard something like, "On the whistle, move to the next pink line!"

Glad that you guys had good times at the match. Everyone nice and well rested now?

Cheers,
Barney
