Princess Auto recently had a introduction to powder coating sale with their offer of a C$79.00 convection type toaster oven & their 8oz & 16oz powders.
So I took a flyer on the 8oz bottle of orangy-red powder coat powder to try it out. And compare it with Emerald coatings standard fare I usually employ.
Using my usual powder coating process & the now discovered Chi-com-made orangy-red powder, the results were somewhat less than satisfying. The Chi-com powder took longer to adhere to the bullets & I had to use about a 1/2 amount extra. After baking, the bullets were blotchy all over, with some coverage thicker & thinner. Cooking a little warmer & a bit longer made no difference.
Seems that as a stand alone powder, the Chi-com powder cannot touch the excellence of Emerald coatings tool blue & clear powders. Might try mixing it next.....
