I had a Stevens 200 ordered from SIR for over a month now, I simply just can't wait any longer its right in the middle of Jack rabbit season so, I ordered the savage from Russell's. Great people to talk to great time talking to them on the phone.
I was trying to get a 22-250 from SIR but I decided to go with the .223 when I ordered the savage, I just like how I can use heavier bullets more so than a bit of speed. I hope I will be happy with the 16fss. Anyone else out there use one?

good choice. i have a 116 fss in 300 RUM and its been flawless. also a stevens 200 in 22-250 and a 111 in 300 win. havnt got anything bad to say about any of them

Ishodu,

I have had a Stevens 200 in 223 for the last two months and it is an very accurate rifle. The 1:9 twist has put everything from 40 gr Ballistic-Tips to 64 gr Power Points into less than half minute groups. In fact I have not shot a group that went over an inch since I got the rifle.

I would expect your Savage to do as well, since it will have the same barrel and action, and the Accu-Trigger might make it work even better.

Well I got it today and put it together its already to take out tomorrow to sight it in.
Got the Leupold STD rings and bases. With a Bushnell legend 5-15 on top. Hopefully I will be happy with this setup.

I must say that the customer service at Russel's was outstanding.

I have a 16fss in 7WSM and a stevens 200 in .223. I find they're both very accurate, but you will LOVE the accutrigger on the 16.

Well I got out today, perfect day. Not a hit of wind here. Got it sighted in pretty well. I do love the trigger, and I can can keep shooting 3 shot groups @100 like this with white box ammo from wally world I will be a very happy man. Don't make fun of the target as I only had one left when I went out and was running short on time and didn't wanna stop for any. Just wanted to get out there lol.

That was my best 3 shot group out of the 15 rounds I got to shoot, others were quite good as well all with in 1 inch.
