Now that the stock is ordered I need to decide what butt stock to get. Want adjustable stock and cheek piece. Wondering what others are using with this stock? Is cheek piece required when using a scope with this stock?
Also my 2007 model 14S looks like the set screw for the flash hider has been drilled to prevent removal. I tried both standard and metric allen wrenches before getting out the magnifying glass!! Anyone seen this before? Hoping if I drill it out I will find that the flash hider has not been spot welded as well? No external signs of a weld but at the 4 oclock and 8 oclock positions on the flash hider looks like ground smooth before finish applied?

I know u said u prefere not expensive butt stock but the magpul PRS on the black feather looks amazing plus has cheek riser and length of pull adjustments. Let me know how yours shoots after u get the stock. I'm still on the fence whether to or not.

Yah that is the stock I was looking at, looks sweet. May have to "bite the bullet" and get one once I finish paying for the stock!!
One of my freinds at the club has the blackfeather stock and casm scopemount on his Norinco M14 and most groups are either just under an inch or darn close!

Right now with my Chu wood stock and NC star scope mount that came with the rifle I am "minute of pie plate"!!!!
2 1/2 to 4" groups but to be honest havent loaded more than 60 rounds yet so shouldnt blame the rifle.

I am waiting for the Black Feather too. I have two stocks for it to try out.... Magpul ACS or CTR with cheek riser. Hope the ACS works out best!

Every days a new adventure, will have to wait for the stock I guess then try to figure out which butt to buy. I shoot mostly bench rest so need a stock with the longer part on the bottom of the butt for the bag to sit on.

Before you drill any thing, if there is a princess auto around you, they have Allen wrench easy outs. They work pretty well.

Just finished assembling the rifle with Blackfeather stock, casm steel scope mount, and stole the butt off my AR for now. Cheek weld is a bit low but will do for the moment. Hope to get to the range this weekend to try her out!!
Got the flash hider off with less problem than I expected but a home made barrel vice clamped to my work bench and a BFH did the trick!

I got a Magpul PRS for my Blackfeather build, I just about have all the pieces now I just need more research and knowledge to do it.

Mil Spec Magpul CTR with the Enhanced Recoil Pad from MDT.
There are snap-on cheek risers available in 3 different heights.
