1. Can I legally order a replacement stock for my m14 from the U.S?
- looking at fiberglass stock with half moa ridged rail mod.
- I understand no "m14" parts to be exported from U.S. unless called m1a

2. If yes, is there any special paper work required? what exactly?

3. If the whole thing is a royal pain in the butt and not worth the effort, who might have what I am looking for here?

i have been bringing standard un issued usgi f/g stocks in using the services of an importer. For one fiberglas usgi stock it ain't worth it.... but when you are trying to bring in 5 to 20 at a time..... ALL must be done properly and legally. These all require the import /export hoops to be jumped through as they are designed for the military version.
I do not do the alterations/additions you are seeking.

"...understand no "m14" parts to be exported from U.S..." Not without the U.S. State Department export permit. Get the export permit (that requires a Canadian import permit to get. Plus several months waiting for it.) and you're fine. However, there are all kinds of aftermarket synthetic stocks available for the M1A that don't require the export permit.
If you have an M305, you do not have an M-14. You have a commercial copy that just happens to be made in China.

you can't get an export permit from the U.S as a Canadian..... only the U.S. seller of the product can do this..... and only once as a private individual.... other than that you must deal with a U.S. business that is already liscenced for export.

Yep. As I understand it you need to:
1. Line up a seller willing to do this.
2. Figure out your order
3. Get Import Papers from Canada covering above items.
4. Wait
5. Send Import paperwork, money (price of items + fees + shipping), and order into US seller
6. Seller aquires US Export papers
7. Wait for your stuff to arrive

I got to about #2 1/2 but the forms I had to fill out were less interesting than everything else in my life.
