Just as the tile says. I have a Glock G22 Gen4 Looking to get a G31(357sig) barrel for it. Has anyone order a barrel form them? Wondering if its worth it or just find one locally in the GTA?

Thanks

Don't think they will ship unless you use a broker. it will be difficult to find one locally. the easiest way I have found was to order a Lone Wolf conversion barrel through Questar

Barrels are major firearms components. Each shipment of major components needs its own export licence from the State Department under ITAR. Brownells, for instance, charges $250 now for this process, so something like a barrel is going to double in price before the exchange.

Non-major parts fall under an exemption in ITAR where each shipment under $500 (wholesale) to Canada doesn't need its own licence.

In all cases, licences and exemptions ONLY apply to companies registered with the State Department as exporters, *and* the manufacturers of the parts must also be registered. This costs money for the companies, and there are record-keeping requirements.

If it comes from the US it could be seized at the border, and whoever's names are on that shipment could be in big doodoo.
The US takes ITAR seriously, best go through proper channels.
Canada is not the problem.

found one on eBay.

You may have found one, but doesn't mean they will ship it.

Good luck, as there are penalties and fines being caught shipping to foreign countries. A barrel is a major part that will get the exporter into a lot of trouble if caught.

Just found one on eBay. Didn't buy it, or ask if they'd ship to Canada. I have no intension of not following the proper channels. I appreciate all the info. Thank you

I had a business that dealt with the CBSA on a weekly basis, and would hear of some of the stories that of smuggling incidents. They are not as stupid as most would think, nor are they as naive as the show that is airing states. The few things that get by them are just small parts that they may not reconize, but certain parts like barrels are immediately scrutinized. Don't need the hassle, especially being put on their watch list.

The Canada Border Services Agency does not care about ITAR items; they are not being paid by United States Customs and Border Patrol or Homeland Security or any other alphabet soup agency, nor do they have authority to enforce the United States Code.

What they *DO* care about is Prohibited items, and paying the tax man. When it comes to recognizable shipments of firearms parts, you can bet they are examining them for compliance with the Canadian Law.

Now, parcels are routinely X-rayed in the postal systems of Canada and the U.S.A., so the tell-tale shape of a barrel or frame is a pretty big giveaway. Perhaps they don't have a specific conveyor belt that internationally-bound boxes ride on, with software flagging ITAR suspicious images and trained and conscientious operators carefully watching the screens. Or perhaps they do? In any case, the shipper is the one who will get in trouble.

I bought one from Police Ordnance last year. They had several in stock but not sure if they still do.
