Im sure this is probably a repost, but Im having issues with the search on here.

I was wondering about getting stocks shipped up from the US? I found some great deals on Ebay.com, so I was going to ask a buddy of mine down there, to bid on the stock (hopefully win) and then send it up here. Is this a no no?

So long as your buddy is a U.S. Department of State-registered exporter, and the total wholesale value of the controlled parts in the given order is US$100. or less, you're good to go.

If, however, your buddy is not a registered exporter with US DOS, you're SOL.

Thanks.

He lives in Houston. He moved down there on business, Im not sure Ill ever make it down. Oh well, I guess Ill be paying full price then.

I ordered my 1022 stock from Combat Hunting dot com, I think you just have to take your chances. It depends who is checking it at customs. My stock was torn out of the packaging and deemed OK. But I had a buddy order an SKS stock and it was sent back. I didn't find one guy on E-Bay that would ship to Canada from the US.
P.S.
its too bad that on this site you have to mention "Sorry if its a Repost" without some know-it-all chewing people out.

Good luck

Pretty new here, but on another site that Im apart of there is usually 1 that picks up and mentions that its a repost and to search. Which I usually do, but like mentioned, Im having issues with the search.

Thats why I was going to get a buddy to ship it up for me. Not with the intention of breaking any laws. I just know sometimes ebay sellers do not ship to the states for a variety of reasons, and I was just seeing what my options were.

what are the chances of getting a gun stock send back from the US? I am looking at getting a tapo ruger 10/22 stock AND a SKS one?

If you order them from a US DOS-registered exporter, it's legal.

And if it's legal you won't have to wonder about the chances of it getting sent back.

Just ask the company, "are you a registered exporter with the Department of State?"

If the answer is no, or if they don't specifically say yes, don't order from them.

Ive had several stocks shipped in from the U.S through a few different places. Andean, Copes Distributing, Sksman, Oneofficer.com to name a few. some of the packages were opened at customs, but always arrived. some places wont ship to Canada, but above mentioned places will ship stocks to Canada. at least they did to me in the last 6 months. between the 4 mentioned, you should be able to find what you are looking for. cheers, Jamie

Just so you know... Ebay won't allow any seller, selling firearm related items, to say they ship to Canada on their shipping instructions. I've found more than a few Ebay sellers that will ship to Canada if you ask them nicely. I just bought a Boyds Evolution finished stock for an excellent price from mikes.stocks. He ships regularly to Canada for $25. It might take a bunch of emails sent to different vendors but you will eventually find someone to ship to you. Good luck in your search.

E-Bay is an evil anti-firearm ownership empire. Using them for anything financially supports the people who don't think you should be allowed to own any firearm.
